Young children are naturally drawn to pools, hot tubs, lakes, and other bodies of water, and children are FAST!! It only takes one moment of distraction for a child to find their way into an unsupervised body of water.
Beyond teaching students to get "comfortable" in the water, our self-rescue swim lessons teach infants and preschoolers how to survive! Children who are comfortable in the water, but lack survival swimming skills, are the ones who are at greatest risk for an aquatic accident.
Many swim schools and "mommy and me" programs do not teach infants how to float on their backs until the child reaches 30 months. At Scioto Infant Aquatics, we teach babies as young as six months the life-saving, float position.
You want your child to learn to swim and float in weeks, not years!!
I can’t even begin to say how great Dolly is. Her gentle and nurturing demeanor made all the difference when my nine month old started his first class. She would always greet us with a friendly smile and took such great care of my son in the water. I can’t thank Dolly enough for teaching my son such a life saving skill! It was such a joy to work with her! -Lindsay G.
We feel so blessed to have connected with Miss Dolly for Bergen's infant survival program! Miss Dolly was consistently positive, loving and professional which we believe contributed to Bergen's swift uptake and substantial boost in confidence. We will miss her upbeat personality and smiles - you can sense her joy for swimming instruction and care for the children is authentic, which instills trust not only in Bergen, but in us as parents, as well. We look forward to working with her again in future lessons! -Amy D.
